2021: Made her professional debut on June 24 at the U.S. Olympic Trials...Won the U.S. Olympic Trials 800m with a personal best time of 1:56.07, at the moment it was the second fastest by an American all-time...Made her Olympic debut at the Tokyo Games...Won the Olympic 800m gold with an American record time of 1:55.21, Mu became the first American female to win the 800m in 53 years...Also anchored the 4x400m to olympic gold...She became the first female in Texas A&M history to obtain an individual medal and the first track & field Aggie, male or female, to win gold in an individual track discipline...Won her Wanda Diamond League debut on August 21, she bettered her American record to stop the clock at 1:55.04...Mu is 7-0 as a Nike professional...Was named the World Athletics Female Rising Star Award winner.
Collegiate Career
2021: Indoor - Set the American U20 800m record at a time of 2:01.07 in her collegiate debut, it was also the fifth fastest all-time collegiate indoor 800m and ranks No. 2 all-time in Aggie history behind collegiate record holder Jazmine Fray 2:00.69...In her second meet she broke a 40-year-old collegiate record in the 600m with a time of 1:25.80 and ran a 50.94 split in the 4x400m, she was named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the week...Most recently Mu recorded arguably one of the fastest collegiate indoor 400m splits at 50.03 to anchor the Aggies to a 3:31.09 finish, the second fastest in the country in 2021...Earned her second USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week honor after breaking the World U20 indoor 400m, pending ratificiation, with a time of 50.52...The time broke 2011 Bowerman winner Jessica's Beard's 10-year old school record of 50.79 and she became the fourth fastest American woman and fourth fastest collegian of all-time...Mu anchored the 4x400m to a collegiate record time of 3:26.27, she split 50.27...The Aggie 4x400 earned USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week honors, it was her seventh weekly honor earned this season...Won the SEC 800m title with a collegiate record breaking time of 1:58.40, her time made her the second fastest American all-time in the indoor 800m...Mu scored 10.5 points toward helping the Aggies finish second at the NCAA Championships, she placed second in the 400m and anchored the 4x400m to a national championship while clocking the fastest indoor 400m split in world history at 49.54. Outdoor - Opened her outdoor season running as a member of the 4x400m that won the Willie Williams Classic with a time of 3:37.92...On April 3, set the Texas A&M school record in the 1500m with a time of 4:16.06...Won the Michael Johnson Invitational 800m with a collegiate record time of 1:57.73, her time also set the American U-20 record...Earned USATF Athlete of the Week honors for her record breaking performance, the second USATF weekly honor of the season...Scored 12.5 points at the SEC Championships winning the 400m and running as a member of the 4x400m...She clocked 49.84 to set the SEC meet record, Texas A&M school record and American U-20 record...Finished as the top qualifier at the NCAA West Regional with a personal best time of 49.68, which bettered her previous American U-20 record and broke the all-time collegiate record...Scored 12.5 points to help Texas A&M finish second in the team standings...Won the NCAA 400m title by bettering her previous collegiate record by .11 with a time of 49.57...Anchored the Aggies in comeback fashion splitting 48.85 to claim the 4x400m title with a collegiate record time of 3:22.34...She was named the USTFCCCA National Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year on June 15...Awarded the Bowerman Award on December 17, 2021

Club: Competed on the Trenton Track Club coached by Alfonso Jennings...Ranked as the No. 1 recruit of the 2020 class, Mu was named the 2020 National High School Indoor Athlete of the Year by Track and Field News...In 2019 Mu set the American women's 600m record to win the USATF Indoor Championship with a time of 1:23.57, the second-fastest indoor 600m in world history...During the 2019 outdoor season she won the 800m title at the U20 Pan-American Championships (2:05.50) and USATF U20 Outdoor Championships (2:05.59) before finishing fourth at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a personal best time of 2:01.17.
