SIRR PARKER TD IN BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP (1998): It’s 3rd and long, and the Aggies need a play to set up a field goal to send the 1998 Big 12 Championship Game to a 3rd overtime. They got a lot more than that. Sirr Parker to the house, and into Aggie lore.
FUMBLE RECOVERY WINS ’99 BONFIRE GAME: With emotions running higher than ever at Kyle Field, the 1999 Aggies needed one more play to finish the Longhorns. Amid tragedy, the Aggies triumphed.
JOHNNY MANZIEL FUMBLE AND TD PASS VS BAMA ‘12: Every Heisman campaign needs a defining moment. Johnny Manziel wasn’t going to let his slip away. The 2012 Aggies beat No. 1 Alabama, and Johnny Manziel becomes the first freshman to win a Heisman Trophy.
2-PT CONVERSION WINS 7 OT LSU GAME (2018): When it’s lasted 7 overtimes, someone has to step up to end it. The 2018 Aggies, finally, topple the Tigers of LSU in one of college football’s longest games ever.
JOHN DAVID CROW WINS HEISMAN (1957): He battered and bruised the opposition. Running with a toughness that was unmatched. When it came time to vote on the 1957 Heisman Trophy, Bear Bryant stated ‘if John David Crow doesn’t win it, they oughta stop givin it.’ Not long after, by a comfortable margin, John David Crow became Texas A&M’s first Heisman Trophy winner.
4TH DOWN STOP OF BO JACKSON: When your back is against the wall, and the best in the game is coming at you, the only choice is to dig in. It’s the stuff of legend. The Aggies stop Heisman winner Bo Jackson, and go on to win the 1986 Cotton Bowl.
E KING GILL, THE 12TH MAN, ‘22: When ringing in the new year of 1922, one of college football’s greatest traditions was ushered in. At the Dixie Classic in Dallas against Centre College, E. King Gill came down from the stands, dressed out and stood ready. Today, the 12th Man, with strength in its numbers, stand for the one who started it all.
GAME WINNING TOUCHDOWN IN SUGAR BOWL (1940): On the cusp of the 1939 National Championship, the Aggies trailed Tulane, co-champs of the Southeastern Conference, 13-7 in the 4th quarter of the Sugar Bowl. These moments are were legends come from. And in Aggieland, few are bigger than Jarrin’ John Kimbrough. His late touchdown proved to be the game winner in a 14-13 triumph. The 1939 Texas A&M Aggies…National Champions.
