From the Desk of Ross Bjork: Accomplishments
Though it has been a tough year and everyone has been pushed beyond the limits, our student-athletes have yet again shown how resilient and incredible they truly are. They faced unprecedented circumstances with understanding and flexibility. Through adversity they have excelled tremendously. Take a moment to look at the all the accomplishments below…it’s a remarkable list!

Soccer
- Co-SEC regular season champions (3rd program title)
- SEC Co-Coach of the Year - G Guerrieri
- SEC Co-Defenders of the Year Jimena Lopez and Karlina Sample, SEC Midfielder of the Year - Addie McCain and SEC Freshman of the Week Barbara Olivieri
- Two selected in the NWSL Draft, including Addie McCain in the second round (Kansas City NWSL) and Jimena Lopez in the fourth round, but eventually signing and debuting with Spanish club SD Eibar

Football
- Posted highest SEC West finish (2nd) and most SEC victories (8)
- Won the Capital One Orange Bowl for the first time
- Posted program’s highest ranked victory at Kyle Field in nearly 20 years with a 41-38 win over No. 4 Florida
- Was undefeated at Kyle Field for the first time since 1999
- Final No. 4 ranking by the Associated Press was the program’s highest since the 1939 national championship season
Volleyball
- Achieved highest AVCA ranking in program history at No. 6 during the fall season
- Three students on First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll
- Three 4.0 GPA’s, 13 named to AD Honor Roll, 14 students on Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll
- USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award
- Ciera Hecht tied the program record for service aces in a four set match, landing eight serves in against Alabama on March 5
- Camille Conner received a nomination for the volleyball Senior CLASS Award, which celebrates the accomplishments on the court, in the classroom and in the community
- Since COVID-19, team members have partnered with the Brazos Valley Food Bank and the Waterford Retirement Home in an effort to give back and serve our community
- The dig pink match earlier this month raised $4,000 for the Side-Out Foundation, committed to raising awareness and helping fund breast cancer research

Women’s Basketball
- Won first ever SEC Regular Season Championship
- Received the highest AP ranking in program history (No. 2)
- Went a perfect 13-0 at home
- Tied for the most ranked wins (9) and total wins (23)
Men’s Basketball
- Wendell Mitchell awarded a $10,000 NCAA Ethnic Minority Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship
- Emanuel Miller, who was named to the SEC Community Service Team, was awarded SEC Player of the Week this past Monday
- Coach Williams named Associated Press SEC Coach of Year for 2019-20 season
Men’s Swimming & Diving
- Shaine Casas was named to the USA Swimming National Team, along with coaches Jay Holmes and Jason Calanog
- Shaine Casas earned the Commissioner’s Trophy for the second straight year at SEC Championships and is the only (male) Aggie to ever receive it
- Kurtis Mathews defended his 3-meter diving title at SEC Championships
- CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honors
- Five Aggies finished with a 4.0, while 21 were named to the Spring AD Honor Roll
- Eight CSCAA Scholar All-Americans
- Ten members of the men’s team have earned a spot to compete at NCAA Championships

Women’s Swimming & Diving
- Raena Eldridge racked multiple awards including, CoSIDA Academic All-District & CoSIDA Academic All-America, Arthur Ashe, Jr., Female Sports Scholar of the Year and NCAA Woman of the Year Top 30
- CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honors
- 15 Aggies finished with a 4.0 during Spring 2020 and 29 members of the squad earned a spot on the Spring AD Honor Roll
- 17 CSCAA Scholar All-Americans
- Charlye Campbell became the first female SEC Champion on the springboards
- Eleven members of the women’s team have earned a spot to compete at NCAA Championships

Indoor Track & Field and Cross Country
- Women’s track & field team had a National Athlete of the Week five times
- Athing Mu earned SEC Freshman of the year and Runner of the Year, USTFCCCA South Central Runner of the Year and set two individual collegiate records (600m/800m)
- Tyra Gittens earned SEC Field athlete of the year, USTFCCCA South Central Field Athlete of the Year
- Women’s 4x400m ran a collegiate record (3:26.27)
- Women’s has been ranked No. 2 nationally all season
- Men have been ranked in the top 25 all season
- College Station native Jon Bishop, already the SEC Indoor and Outdoor Scholar Athlete of the Year, was awarded a $10,000 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in 2021. Bishop is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Computer Science and has a graduate cumulative GPA of 3.67

Equestrian
- Hayley Riddle was named the Co-SEC Horsemanship Rider of the Fall
- Five Aggies earned All-SEC accolades last season.
- Ann Elizabeth Tebow was named the Brad Davis SEC Community Service Leader Award winner
- Rhian Murphy received 2020 Lohman Inspiration Award
Softball
- Haley Lee made SportsCenter’s Top 10 for recording three home runs in a game, for the second time this season
- Kelsey Broadus tossed her first career no-hitter and the team’s first since 2018
- Shaylee Ackerman, Trinity Cannon and Taudrea Sinnie named distinguished students, three students had a 4.0 GPA
- 13 athletes on spring SEC Honor Roll, 6 on the First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll
Baseball
- Asa Lacy was the 4th overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft
- Only school in the nation with three players selected in the first 50 picks of the 2020 MLB Draft
- Coach Rob Childress earned win No. 600, becoming the second-fastest active SEC coach to rack up 600 DI wins and the eighth-fastest overall active coach to reach the mark

Men’s Golf
- Only DI program to produce a trio of All-America Scholars and a trio of PING All-Americans in 2019-20
- Sam Bennett earned an exemption to play in Valero Texas Open winning the Cabo Collegiate.

Women’s Golf
- Courtney Dow advanced to match play at the 120th US Women’s Amateur
- Four Aggie golfer named WGCA All-American Scholars
- Brooke Tyree advances to 92nd Louisiana Amateur Championship final
- APR Top 10 recognition

Men’s Tennis
- Ranked in the top-15 all spring while facing one of the toughest schedules in the country, including six wins over ranked opponents
- Valentin Vacherot ranked No. 4 in the country while teammate, Hady Habib is ranked No. 13 nationally
Women’s Tennis
- Earned a place among the top-25 for the last three rankings
- Dorthea Faa-Hviding leads the Aggies with a 9-0 singles record this spring
- No. 39 ranked duo of Jayci Goldsmith and Tatiana Makarova pace the team with a pair of ranked wins this year.
Student-Athlete Engagement/Student-Athlete Services
- Hosted first Voter Registration Drive and registered 237 people in the Bryan/College Station community with the support of every sports program
- AggiesCAN raised $11,472 which equates to 57,370 meals for the Bryan College Station community.
- Launched new community service initiatives:
- Fall for Service/Spring for Service - Collected can donations, partnered with the GreenTeam to recycle waste products and held a clothes drive for Phoebe’s Home
- Boys & Girls PenPal Mentorship Program- served as a role model for kids at the boys & girls club by writing letters with one student for the semester
- Virtually continued REVved Up to Read & Aggies MOVE where student-athletes read virtually to 2nd grade students and highlighted the importance of getting active and engaging in exercise virtually to 3rd and 4th grade students
- Texas A&M was represented by 77 student-athletes on the 2020 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll, the second-most honorees in school history for the fall semester
- The Aggies recorded a fall semester grade-point average of 3.003, the highest ever recorded in the fall and the first 3.0 fall semester. A department-record 12 teams registered a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- The 2019-20 academic year went down as the best in Texas A&M Athletics history, as it set records in grade-point averages and the Athletics Director's Honor Roll selections. The Aggies put together a record-breaking spring semester in the classroom, boasting a 3.4 GPA and seeing 390 student-athletes earn AD Honor Roll recognition for receiving a 3.0 GPA or better. For the first time ever, Texas A&M turned in a cumulative GPA above a 3.0, and all 18 programs came in above that 3.0 mark
