Women's History Month
Join us throughout Women's History Month as we spotlight some of the greatest teams that have taken athletics in Aggieland to an elite level.
2009 Track & Field

The 2009 women's track and field team brought home Texas A&M's first track national championship inside Fayetteville's John McDonnell Field.
A 31-point final day vaulted the Aggies past Oregon and to the national title with a total of 50 points.
Porscha Lucas took home the 200 title, with Jessica Beard (400) and Yasmine Regis (triple jump) taking second place to score big points on the final day. Earlier in the meet, the 4x1 relay team crushed a 20-year-old collegiate record to win the crown in that event.
The women became part of the first double national championship in the sport since 1990, as the men also took home the title that day.

2010 Track & Field

It was twice as nice for women's track & field in 2010 as they successfully defended their national championship with a dominating effort at Eugene's Hayward Field. Texas A&M's women amassed 72 points, winning the meet by 15 points.
Starting with a 4x100 victory, the Aggie women kept churning out the points in just about every event they contested on the final day of the meet. They totaled 46 on the day with the bulk of them, 22 to be exact, coming in the 200 meters.
The sprint relay victory was the fourth consecutive for A&M with Porscha Lucas running second leg on each one. She became the first female sprinter in NCAA history to run on four consecutive 4x100 relay championship teams. Lucas later successfully defended her NCAA title in the 200 in 22.83.

2011 Track & Field

With a thrilling last-event victory at the 2011 NCAA Championships in Des Moines, the Aggie women made Texas A&M the first-ever school to claim the coveted “triple double"--a sweep of the men's and women's team national titles in three consecutive seasons.
Tied in the team standings at 39 with Oregon, the Aggies and Ducks lined up for the 4x400 relay with the squad posting the better score taking home the trophy.
Jessica Beard's collegiate best 49.14 split on the anchor leg not only set a school record (3:26.31), and not only gave A&M its first-ever women's NCAA outdoor 4x4 title, but claimed the national championship for the Aggies.

2014 Track & Field

The 2014 women's track and field team earned the program's fourth national title in six years, claiming the championship inside historic Hayward Field.
Two victories, a runner-up effort and third place finish on the final day, earned A&M 34 points and locked up the title before the final race was even run. A&M won the 4x100 relay and producing a 1-3 finish in the 200 meters to accomplish the feat.
