Presentation: Culture by Design: Shaping High-Performance Teams in Strength & Conditioning
In the dynamic world of strength and conditioning, success isn’t just built on physical prowess; it’s driven by culture. This session, Culture by Design, will explore how culture serves as the foundation for developing high-performing teams, from the individual athlete to the elite professional level.
We’ll begin by examining the origins of culture, including how sporting culture evolves at the league, institutional, departmental, team, and individual levels. By understanding the unique dynamics of each layer, we’ll explore how they align to create a cohesive and effective culture that drives success.
The presentation will then dive into the critical process of identifying, shifting, and sustaining culture, with a special focus on the role of strength and conditioning professionals in shaping the cultural environment. We’ll discuss how cultural skills, such as leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence, complement technical competencies to build a well-rounded, resilient team.
Lastly, we’ll address the impact of competitive climates on team culture, looking at how different settings (NCAA, Amateur, Professional, National Teams, Olympic) either challenge or nurture the growth of a team's culture. Participants will leave with actionable strategies for building and maintaining a culture that supports long-term athletic success and personal development.
Join us as we uncover how culture, when intentionally designed and nurtured, is the key to sustained excellence in strength and conditioning.

Presentation: Operationalizing the Paradigm of 'Interdisciplinary Services' to Create Results-Driven Performance Impact
Performance optimization for any team or athlete does not happen by chance, but in fact is the result of closely orchestrated interactions between all high-performance services - it demands a unified approach where all support services collaborate seamlessly. In Operationalizing the Paradigm of 'Interdisciplinary Services' to Create Results-Driven Performance Impact, we’ll explore the performance impact that interdisciplinary performance solutions the encompass strength & conditioning, sports medicine, athletic training, nutrition, sport science, and psychology can have on success.
This session will break down the concept of “interdisciplinary services,” providing a practical framework for how strength and conditioning professionals can engage with their interdisciplinary colleagues from different technical domains to create highly effective and impactful performance solutions. Using real-life case study examples we will discuss critical factors that drive communication, optimize resource allocation, and aligning goals across different departments, ensuring every element of the athlete’s development is considered and supported.
Through real-world case studies and actionable insights, you will learn how to build and operationalize interdisciplinary models that drive measurable results. The presentation will also address potential challenges in fostering collaboration and offer solutions to overcome common barriers such as team silos, conflicting priorities, and limited communication.
By the end of the session, participants will gain a clear understanding of how to leverage interdisciplinary services to maximize athlete performance, improve outcomes, and enhance the overall training experience. This is an essential conversation for anyone looking to take their athlete development programs to the next level by ensuring all support systems are working together toward a unified, results-driven performance impact.

Presentation: When Worlds Collide: Navigating Conflicting Approaches Between Coaches
In the field of strength and conditioning, coaches are often tasked with creating comprehensive training programs that balance their own expertise and philosophies with the perspectives, priorities, and preferences of sport coaches and other stakeholders. The difference between being good and being great is the ability to be agile and open-minded. This presentation will discuss having conflicting philosophies, navigating the difference and producing an effective program that aligns outside the comfort of your own philosophy.
