AT DRIPPING SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letter winner for coach Chris Payne… in his senior season was voted Team MVP and first team all-district… in his senior season was awarded team MVP and first team all-district with a 1.20 ERA, and 71 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched… junior year had a 6-1 record on the mound with 62 strikeouts and a 1.76 ERA in 51 innings pitched earning second team all-district honors.
