- Title:
- Coordinator of Player Development
Matt Salvaggio joined the Texas A&M football staff in January 2024 as the coordinator of player development.
In his role on head coach Mike Elko’s staff, Salvaggio supports Texas A&M student-athletes in all aspects of their daily development, working closely with players on accountability, academics and personal growth on and off the field.
Prior to assuming his full-time role, Salvaggio assisted the Aggie football program’s creative media and recruiting departments while an undergraduate at Texas A&M. Beginning in June 2018, he worked as a student recruiting creative, developing visual templates for weekly recruiting communication, creating custom informational designs and assisting with official visits and photoshoots. He also helped maintain recruiting databases and played an active role in recruiting communications and messaging.
Salvaggio first drew the Elko’s attention as a junior at Rudder High School in Bryan, Texas, when he was producing football recruit edits under his social media handle @979SportsEditz. He developed a nationally-recognized recruiting and graphic design brand, creating content for prospective student-athletes. As the Aggies’ defensive coordinator at the time, Elko helped bring Salvaggio to the football program as a student assistant.
A native of Bryan, Texas, Salvaggio earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Texas A&M in December 2023.
