Coached at Rockwall-Heath High School by Mickey Moss.
Honorable mention all-state selection in Class 4A as a junior and Class 5A as a senior by the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors.
Team captain.
Earned second-Team District 12-5A honors as a senior after making 54 tackles, 7 sacks and 7 QBH.
Helped lead the Hawks to a 6-5 record and into the 5A Div. II playoffs.
As a junior, was the District 10-4A Player of the Year after making 69 tackles with 12 quarterback sacks, 14 QB pressures and three fumble recoveries.
Named second-Team All-Area by the Dallas Morning News in 2011.
Chose Texas A&M over Syracuse, SMU, North Texas and Tulsa.
