Elected to turn professional after participating in one fall tournament for the Aggies … finished in a tie for 12^th at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate (211, -5).

Summer 2017

Following the completion of the Aggies’ campaign, turned heads at the 2017 U.S. Open where he shined as one of only two amateurs to make the cut before finishing 32nd overall … represented the United States at 2017 Walker Cup, which was played at Los Angeles Country Club … helped the U.S. defeat the Great Britain and Ireland Team 19-7.

2016-17 (Junior)
Honored as a Third Team PING All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America while also garnering PING All-Central and First Team All-SEC accolades following a standout junior campaign … semifinalist for the 2017 Division I Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award … maintained a 71.50 scoring average during 34 rounds … enjoyed one tournament title and five top-five finishes while posting a red-hot finish to the year with top-six finishes in five of his last seven events … on the year carded 20 of his 34 rounds at par or lower … stood out as A&M’s top finisher in four tournaments … began the season with a ninth-place performance at the Turning Stone-Tiger Intercollegiate (216, E) ... followed it up with a victory at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational (205, -5) shooting five-below for the tournament and opening with a career-best 65 during the first round ... taking a break from A&M competition in late December, earned medalist honors at the Patriot All-America Invitational (203, -7) by besting Oklahoma State’s Zachary Olsen in a playoff … for his efforts at the Patriot, was named December Southern Golf Association Amateur of the Month … began a streak of four straight top-20 finishes with a sixth-place showing at the Louisiana Classics (212, -4) ... recorded a top-five finish at the Bandon Dunes Championship (210, -6) in Oregon, shot below par every round ... named Co-SEC Golfer of the Week on March 15 after his showing at Bandon Dunes … after an 18th-place effort at the Valspar Collegiate finished runner-up at the hometown Aggie Invitational (139, -5) ... finished in third at the Tiger Classics (140, -4) shooting an opening-round 69 and concluding with a 71 during the 36-hole event ... stood out as one of the top golfers at the SEC Championship by finishing in a tie for fifth (205, -5) while going a perfect 3-0 in match play … finished in a tie for 22nd at the NCAA Sammamish Regional (218, +5).

2015-16 (Sophomore)
Led the Aggies in scoring as a sophomore, compiling a 72.82 stroke average in 33 rounds of competition … notched four top-10 showings in 11 events while carding 12 rounds of par or lower … stood out as A&M’s top individual in three tournaments … notched a top-10 finish with a seventh-place showing at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate (214, -2) … followed that performance with a second straight top-10 placing, ending competition in fourth place at the Louisiana Classics (212, -4) … concluded play in the red with a 16th-place showing at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate (215, -1) in early March, carding a season-low 68 during the event’s opening round … notched another top-10 tournament at the General Hackler Championship (213, -3), finishing in a tie for ninth … punched his ticket to the NCAA Championship with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Albuquerque Regional (221, +5), leaving Champ as the highest placing individual on a non-advancing team … finished 85th at the NCAA Championship (220, +10) in Eugene, Ore.

2014-15 (Freshman)
Highly-touted freshman who battled injuries during his debut season in Aggieland … saw action in six events, maintaining a 74.36 scoring average in 14 rounds of competition … recorded three rounds of par or lower … withdrew from the Fighting Illini Invitational in early September with a back injury that prevented him from participating during the remainder of the fall season … returned to competition during the Sea Best Invitational (22, +12) in early February … posted his highest placing of the season, a tie for 15th at the event … prior to the season, was named a third team All-American as well as the No. 3 incoming freshman in America by Golfweek.
