Suarez did not disappoint in his first year of competition for the Aggies. In the Big 12 Conference Championships, Suarez helped the 200 free relay team to a third place finish, finished 15th in the 50 free, finished 12th in the 100 breaststroke, and finished 12th in the 200 breaststroke earning 20 points for A&M at the conference meet. Beat both of his personal bests in the 100 and 200 breaststroke (56.34 and 2:03.15 respectively) at the conference meet.

2010 graduate of Bellaire High School...Four-year letterwinner and was coached by Kris Wingenroth...won first place in his district in the 100 breaststroke in his sophomore, junior and senior year...also won first place in the 200 free his sophomore year, the 200 individual medley his junior year and the 100 butterfly his senior year...set district records in the 100 breaststroke, 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly...won second place at state his senior year, losing out to the first place finisher by .01 seconds...holds school records in the 200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly...also competed for the Houston Swim Club and was coached by Gilbert Legaspi.

Diego Suarez Martinez is the son of Arturo Suarez Gonzales and Patricia Suarez...born October 16, 1991 in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico...biological and agricultural engineering major...has one brother, Arturo Suarez, 21...chose A&M because "it's the best!"
