2015-2016 (Junior):
Led the team with and posted NCAA “B” qualifying times at the SEC Championships in the 50-yard freestyle (19.76) and at the American Short Course Championships (43.80) … Earned a spot on the Sec Honor Roll… at the SEC Championships competed in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly… swam season bests in both the 50 free (19.76) and 100 fly (49.95)… earned three first place victories in the 100 free in the UIW & Miami, IRSC and FAU dual meets.
2014-2015 (Sophomore)
Saw success in the 50 and 100 free, recording a first place finish in the events a combined seven times in 2014… came in fourth-place in the A-Final 50 free at the American Short Course Championships (20.20)… recorded a personal best in the 50 free (19.82) and was a part of the Aggies’ fastest 200 free relay (1:18.86) team of 2014 at the SEC Championships, both good for NCAA ‘B’ cuts.
2013-2014 (Freshman)
Showed great potential in his freshman season with an NCAA ‘B’ cut in the 50 free (20.15) at the SEC Championships. Also competed in the 100 fly (49.65) and 100 free (45.01) setting personal bests in all three events. Gonzales’ 50 free ranks fourth fastest on the team this season.
High School/Club:
2013 graduate of Klein Collins High School … four year letter winner … holds a school record in 50 free (20.26) and 100 free (45.34) … as a senior was the district and regional champion for the 50 and 100 free and went on to become the silver medalist in the 50 free and bronze medalist in the 100 free at the state meet … also competed for Team Fins for two years and was coached by Bill Goudeket.

Jacob Abraham Gonzales is the son of Romeo and Susan Gonzales … born on May 3, 1995 in Pordenoi, Italy … has three younger siblings: Isabel, Aaron, and Joe … father, Romeo, played football for West Point … two cousins, Brad and Ryan Staff attended Texas A&M … has swam competitively since the age of 12 … says he chose A&M because “it’s the best.”
