2015-2016 (Freshman):
Earned victories in the 200 fly against UIW & Miami (1:49.32) and the 200 IM against Kentucky (1:51:32)… finished seventh and swam a season best in the 100 fly at the Art Adamson Invitational… competed at the SEC Championship in the 100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 IM… swam fifth fastest season time in the 100 fly (48.49) and third fastest in the 200 fly (1:49.07)… posted NCAA “B” qualifying cut in the 200 IM at the Art Adamson Invitational (1:47.80)… swam lead off for the 800 free relay at the AAI.

High School/Club:
2015 graduate of The Sagemont School in Weston, Florida… 2015 State Champion in the 100 fly and 200 IM… holds two school records in the 100 fly and 200 IM… also swam for the Azura Florida Aquatics swim club under Coach Gianluca Alberani.

Mateo Gonzalez Medina is the son of Guillermo and margarita Gonzalez… born October 1, 1996 in Torreon, Cohuila, Mexico… has a sister, Esther, who swims for the Women’s Swimming and Diving team at Texas A&M… intends to major in business… chose A&M because “I think this place [Texas A&M] is awesome.”
