2013-2014 (Freshman)
Showed great potential during his freshman season, competing in six individual events at the Art Adamson Invitational: the 50 free, 100 back, 200 back, 100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 IM. Stenman competed at the Speedo Championship Series where he had personal bests in the 100 fly (50.15), 100 back (49.38) and 200 back (1:49.98).
High School/Club:
2013 graduate of Temple High School in Temple, Texas … four-year letter winner … holds a school record in the 100 back (51.08) … two-year District and Regional champion in 100 back and 100 fly … finished 5th in 100 back at State meet and 9th in 100 fly … senior year Stenman earned District MVP, 1st Team All- District, 1st Team All- Region, 1st Team All-State, and All-America honors … received honorable mention for water polo team … also competed for the Texas Gold Swimming club team for 10 months and was coached by Ben Cunock-Francois.

Robert Edward Stenman is the son of Russell and Laura Stenman of Temple, Texas … born on August 27, 1995 in Lansing, Michigan … has three siblings: Jennifer, Audrey, and Russell … intends to major in Forensic Science … had three family members graduate from A&M, mother Laura class of ’82, sister Jennifer class of ’10, and sister Audrey class of ’14 … has been swimming competitively since fifth grade … says he chose A&M because “it’s been my dream to swim at A&M since I started swimming.”
