2017-18 (Sophomore):
  • Set school record 9:05.38 in the 1,000 free at the Texas A&M Last Chance Meet
  • Posted a team season-best time of 15:17.18 in the 1650 freestyle at the American Short Course Championships
  • Won the 1650 at the Art Adamson Invitational with an NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 15:18.95
2016-2017 (Freshman):
  • At the SEC Championships, Gibbons saw action in the 500 free and 1,650 free
  • Team leader in the 1,000 free (9:32.31) and the 1,650 free (15:36.58) and had the team’s second-fastest 500 free (4:30.15)

Jake Gibbons is the son of Geoffrey and Robin Gibbons of Jacksonville, Fla…. born January 8, 1997 in Connecticut… has one brother, Jared, 18… was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 18 and is a Team Type 1 Global Ambassador, an organization that fights for equal access to medicine for all people living with Type 1 diabetes… political science major… chose Texas A&M for “the coaching staff. Jay and Jason offer not only world-class swimming knowledge, but they are two of the most honorable and caring people I know.”
