Kevin O'Shea

Kevin O'Shea has been associated with the Texas A&M men’s tennis program for more than 20 seasons and has served as Associate Head Coach since 2022. O'Shea originally joined Steve Denton’s staff as the Director of Operations in 2006 before being elevated to Assistant Coach in 2016.

The Aggies have seen unprecedented success since O’Shea joined the Aggie tennis family with more than 400 dual match victories, 19 straight trips to the NCAA team tournament, nine NCAA Sweet 16 appearances, seven top 10 finishes in the ITA team rankings and six conference team titles.

O’Shea has helped guide Texas A&M to 33 NCAA tournament wins and the Aggies have eclipsed the 20-win plateau 11 times. Texas A&M matched the program single-season record for victories with 30 in 2011 and produced four more seasons with 25 or more wins.

O’Shea has mentored 19 players to All-America status, including 11 with multiple recognitions. Four players – Conor Pollack (2009), Austin Krajicek (2010, 2011), Arthur Rinderknech (2016, 2017) and Theo Papamalamis (2026) – earned singles and doubles honors in the same season. Three Aggie singles players and four doubles tandems have reached the NCAA quarterfinals or better, with Krajicek and Jeff Dadamo winning the 2011 NCAA doubles crown and Rinderknech and Jackson Withrow advancing to the 2016 NCAA doubles final. Two doubles tandems have finished the season ranked No. 2 in the final ITA poll – Krajicek and Dadamo in 2011 and Papamalamis and Togan Tokac in 2026.

In addition to the individual success that O’Shea has experienced in Aggieland, the team has captured a trio of SEC regular season titles to go along with a pair of SEC Tournament championships. Additionally, the 2011 team won the Big 12 Tournament crown. The 2018 squad was the first Texas A&M team in any sport to complete an SEC regular season undefeated enroute to the program’s highest ever ITA final ranking of No. 4 in the country.

O'Shea had spent nearly 10 years with the United States Tennis Association in Austin before coming to College Station as director of tennis operations for Texas A&M. He is a certified USTA High Performance Coach and a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Certified Professional 1 Coach. He was named the Capital Area Tennis Association and Austin Chronicle Junior Coach of the Year in 1996 and was also selected as an AAU Junior Olympics Gold Medal Coach in 1995.
 
O'Shea was a four-year tennis standout at St. Edward's University in Austin. He earned two-time Heart of Texas Academic All-Conference honors and was a Dean's List student. O'Shea graduated in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
 
Kevin and his wife, Lisa, are the proud parents of five boys -- Sullivan, Desmond, Paxton, Callahan and Malone -- and their daughter Adela.
