Zach Herrera arrived as director of tennis operations for both the men’s and women’s programs in August 2026.
Herrera comes to Aggieland after serving as an operations intern for Georgetown University’s track and field program while completing his master’s degree in sports industry management. While at Georgetown, he oversaw daily operations of the track and field program including administration, recruiting, logistics, equipment and compliance.
“We are excited to announce that Herrera will be serving as our new director of operations,” women’s tennis head coach Mark Weaver said. “Zach has an excellent background for this position, and we are all very excited to welcome him here to Aggieland.”
Herrera served as a strategic growth intern for the San Antonio Spurs where he provided detailed market reports and weekly newsletters for the Spurs front office.
“We are super excited to have him on board to be our director of operations,” men’s tennis head coach Steve Denton said. “He comes very highly recommended from his previous position and we know he will do a great job helping both of our tennis programs.”
During his undergraduate endeavors, he served as the head manager for the women’s tennis program at the University of Texas, supporting the coaching staff in daily operations. He later served as an intern for the men’s basketball program where he assisted with logistical operations including event scheduling and travel.
