Wheeler earned three points at the Big 12 Championships as he finished in 14^th in the 100 backstroke. He also swam his best time of the year in the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.25.

2009 graduate of Round Rock High School ... at the 2009 Class 5A State Championships, Wheeler placed seventh in the 100 back and tied for ninth with fellow A&M freshman Nick Han in the 100 fly ... helped Round Rock to the state championship in the 200 medley relay and a third place finish with the 400 free relay.
