Along with future Texas A&M teammate Angela Lowak, helped lead Austin Juniors to the 2011 USA Junior National Championship 17 Open Division title…Coached by Glen Lietzke, her 18s team placed fifth at 2012 Junior Nationals…Joined Austin Juniors in 2010…Was a three-year varsity starter for coach Janet Angell at Midway High School in Waco, Texas…Helped lead the Panthers to a district championship every year while seeing action as both a middle blocker and outside hitter…Earned all-state honors from the Texas Girls Coaches Association as a senior despite missing the latter part of the season following shoulder surgery…Also was named to the 2011 TGCA academic all-state team and was on PrepVolleyball.com’s preseason list of Senior Aces 150…As a junior, was named first-team all-District 8-4A and also was named the district’s most outstanding hitter…In addition, was named to LoneStarVolleyball.com’s All-Texas Team Special Recognition list…Named the 2009 Waco Tribune-Herald Super CenTex Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore…Lists winning the 2011 USA Junior National Championships in the 17 Open Division as the most memorable moment of her prep athletic career.
PERSONAL
Jazzmin LeeAnn Babers is the daughter of Dino and Susan Babers…Her father is the head football coach at Syracuse University and a former offensive coordinator at Texas A&M under then head coach R.C. Slocum…Her dad played football at Hawaii, and her mother lettered in volleyball for the Rainbow Wahine and legendary coach Dave Shoji…Has three sisters who all love to travel, including her oldest sister, Breeahnah, who was a teacher in South Korea, and her second oldest sister, Tasha, who recently spent a year in Hawaii editing film for a Christian organization, as well as her little sister, Paris…Jazzmin got her name because by the third girl her mom had run out of names and asked her oldest daughter what she wanted to name her new baby sister and she said Princess Jasmine…Jazzmin played soccer most of her childhood and did not pick up a volleyball until her freshman year of high school…In addition to Texas A&M, made official recruiting visits to Rice and Louisville…Chose to sign with Texas A&M because, “when I visited, I just loved the coaches, the people were very friendly and it just felt right”…Most memorable athletic moment at Texas A&M is beating Missouri to win the SEC title…Chose to wear No. 22 so she can have her jersey number in her name (Ja22min)…Hobbies include going to church, baking, arts and crafts, shopping and having fun and laughing…Is a member of the FCA leadership team…Was one of 11 volleyball players and 28 Aggie student-athletes overall to go on a mission trip to Haiti in May…Participates in numerous other volunteer activities, including at the Bryan Adult Learning Center, where she volunteered in an adult ESL class, taught lessons and helped with one-on-one work; Aggies Move, teaching elementary children how to live active lives and how to stay healthy while also teaching them the basic volleyball skills; SAAC Movie at the Mound, helping to organize the SAAC event put on for the community; Science Olympiad, a science competition for middle school and high school students from all around Texas in which she helped with set up and take down, monitored and distributed tests, graded tests and was an overseer and judge for certain science competitions; The Big Event in which she helped an older couple prepare their home for moving out, painting, cleaning windows and boxing up their items; Junior Aggie Club end-of-year celebration, playing with children and thanking them for their support of Aggie Athletics; and Residence Hall Move-In Assistance Day, helping new and returning Aggies move into their dorms…Also volunteers at a local elementary school, working one-on-one or in small groups with students needing extra help or with advanced students needing more challenging work...Has been a member of the Texas A&M Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll in each of the last five semesters…Majoring in interdisciplinary studies (elementary education)…Slated to graduate in May 2017…Career ambition is to be an elementary teacher…Born February 13, 1994, in La Habra, Calif.

PERSONAL
Jazzmin LeeAnn Babers is the daughter of Dino and Susan Babers…Her father is the head football coach at Syracuse University and a former offensive coordinator at Texas A&M under then head coach R.C. Slocum…Her dad played football at Hawaii, and her mother lettered in volleyball for the Rainbow Wahine and legendary coach Dave Shoji…Has three sisters who all love to travel, including her oldest sister, Breeahnah, who was a teacher in South Korea, and her second oldest sister, Tasha, who recently spent a year in Hawaii editing film for a Christian organization, as well as her little sister, Paris…Jazzmin got her name because by the third girl her mom had run out of names and asked her oldest daughter what she wanted to name her new baby sister and she said Princess Jasmine…Jazzmin played soccer most of her childhood and did not pick up a volleyball until her freshman year of high school…In addition to Texas A&M, made official recruiting visits to Rice and Louisville…Chose to sign with Texas A&M because, “when I visited, I just loved the coaches, the people were very friendly and it just felt right”…Most memorable athletic moment at Texas A&M is beating Missouri to win the SEC title…Chose to wear No. 22 so she can have her jersey number in her name (Ja22min)…Hobbies include going to church, baking, arts and crafts, shopping and having fun and laughing…Is a member of the FCA leadership team…Was one of 11 volleyball players and 28 Aggie student-athletes overall to go on a mission trip to Haiti in May…Participates in numerous other volunteer activities, including at the Bryan Adult Learning Center, where she volunteered in an adult ESL class, taught lessons and helped with one-on-one work; Aggies Move, teaching elementary children how to live active lives and how to stay healthy while also teaching them the basic volleyball skills; SAAC Movie at the Mound, helping to organize the SAAC event put on for the community; Science Olympiad, a science competition for middle school and high school students from all around Texas in which she helped with set up and take down, monitored and distributed tests, graded tests and was an overseer and judge for certain science competitions; The Big Event in which she helped an older couple prepare their home for moving out, painting, cleaning windows and boxing up their items; Junior Aggie Club end-of-year celebration, playing with children and thanking them for their support of Aggie Athletics; and Residence Hall Move-In Assistance Day, helping new and returning Aggies move into their dorms…Also volunteers at a local elementary school, working one-on-one or in small groups with students needing extra help or with advanced students needing more challenging work...Has been a member of the Texas A&M Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll in each of the last five semesters…Majoring in interdisciplinary studies (elementary education)…Slated to graduate in May 2017…Career ambition is to be an elementary teacher…Born February 13, 1994, in La Habra, Calif.
