Katerina Bruner, a two-time All-American at Texas A&M, enters her third year as Assistant Coach (2020-21) for the women’s golf program. Bruner was the Aggies’ career leader in stroke average (73.70) and par-or-better rounds (43) at the time of her graduation in 2014.
Bruner, née Ruzickova, returned to the program for the 2018-19 season, Andrea Gaston’s first at Texas A&M, helping the Aggies to their 19th straight NCAA Regional appearance. She previously served as a volunteer assistant coach in the spring of 2017, helping the Aggies to a top-5 finish at the SEC Championship. She coached two All-SEC selections, Bianca Fabrizio and Maddie Szeryk, and helped Courtney Dow to the SEC All-Freshman team.
The Prague, Czech Republic native played for Texas A&M from 2010-14, and was a three-time all-conference selection. She won the 2012 NCAA East Regional, and helped the Aggies to three top 16 finishes nationally, including a seventh place finish in 2011.
Since graduating with a degree in psychology in 2014, Bruner also served as an Assistant Golf Professional at both Traditions Club and The Campus Course at Texas A&M. She played professionally on the Symetra Tour, where she averaged 75.63 strokes per round in 11 events.
A star in the classroom as well, Bruner was an Academic All-Big 12 selection in 2012, and was named to the SEC Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2012-13 and 2013-14.
Bruner married her husband Charlie, in 2015.
