2013-2014 (Senior)
Posted 72 individual points with a huge performance at the SEC Championships. McElhany placed ninth in the 200 IM (1:57.58), fifth in the 100 fly (52.48), third in the 200 fly (1:54.87), and swam fly in the gold-medal winning 400 medley relay which set a new SEC meet record (2:29.03). McElhany tallied four NCAA ‘B’ cuts at the championships in the 50 free (22.68), the 100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 IM. At the NCAA Championships, McElhany competed in the 100 fly (52.45), placed seventh in the 200 fly (1:53.91), and finished 17th in the 200 IM (1:57.38). McElhany was also vital to the second place school-record 400 medley relay (3:28.13).
2012-2013 (Junior)
Had a huge season scoring 82 points at the SEC Championships. McElhany won the bronze medal in both the 200 I.M and the 100 fly and won silver in the 200 fly. McElhany helped secure the championship title for the 400 medley relay team. Posted two NCAA ‘A’ cuts for the 100 fly and 200 fly and one NCAA ‘B’ cut in the 200 IM. McElhany is ranked second in program history in the 100 fly (51.86), 200 fly (1:53.24), and 200 I.M (1:55.97). McElhany took 6th place in the 100 fly at the 2013 Phillips 66 National Championships and World Championship Trials.
2011-2012 (Sophomore)
Had an impressive season with five NCAA ‘B’ cuts and a sixth place finish at the NCAA championships in 200 fly ... had best times of 22.52 for 50 free, 49.92 for 100 free, 52.49 for 100 fly, 1:55.15 for 200 fly, and 1:57.76 for 200 IM … McElhany went on the Olympic Trials, becoming a finalist for the 100m butterfly (8th) and 200m butterfly (5th).
2010-2011
Saw early action before an injury forced a redshirt season ... Posted a NCAA B cut in October with a time of 1:59.40 in the 200 fly at the UH Cougar Classic.
2009-2010 (Freshman/Texas)
Had best times of 50.69 (SCY) and 57.35 (LCM) in 100 free, 1:50.71 (SCY) and 2:02.66 (LCM) in the 200 free, 2:02.19 (SCY) and 2:15.64 (LCM) in the 200 IM, 4:49.91 (LCM) in the 400 IM and 54.70 (SCY) and 1:00.03 (LCM) in the 100 fly.
High School/Club:
A 2009 graduate of Friendswood High School in Friendswood, Texas, McElhany was coached by John Little at Friendswood and Randy Reese at the Clearwater Aquatics club team...finished first in districts in the 100-yard fly and 200-yard individual medley in both 2007 and 2009.
