2022-23 (SOPHOMORE)
Collected a 11-3 singles record on the year and finished 5-1 in dual match play... Picked up the second ranked singles win of her career over Michigan's No. 125 Julia Fliegner in straight-sets... Played a pivotal role on court 3 doubles for the Aggies all season amassing a record of 19-14 across four partners (Mary Stoiana, Jeanette Mireles, Daria Smetannikov and Mia Kupres)... Claimed the first ranked doubles win of her career with Stoiana as they bested Northwestern's Clarissa Hand/Maria Shusharina.
2021-22 (FRESHMAN)
Assembled a 23-12 overall singles record highlighted by a 19-8 run through the dual match season…. Was the clinch victor against Tarleton, Prairie View A&M, Old Dominion and Abilene Christian… Recorded at least one win at the No. 1, 2, 4 and 5 singles positions… Defeated Alesya Yakubovich to clinch the team’s first ranked win over No. 17 Old Dominion… Secured her first collegiate ranked singles win against No. 13 Florida, defeating No. 106 Emma Shelton in straight sets… Mustered a 23-9 record through her first collegiate doubles matches, including an 18-6 mark in dual match play with 14 wins at the No. 3 position… Won at least one match with all three of her doubles partners… Compiled a strong 13-2 overall record when playing with Renee McBryde... Clinched the doubles point with McBryde over Florida in the SEC Tournament Semifinals to help secure A&M’s 4-3 win.
PERSONAL: Gianna Pielet was born in the summer of 2002 to Doug and Mariette Pielet in Greenville, South Carolina… Raised in El Paso, Texas… Has an older sister, Sophia… Currently majoring in University Studies with plans to focus on Business and Sport Management, expecting to graduate in 2024… Aspires to become a professional tennis player upon graduation… When she’s away from the courts, she enjoys reading and watching her favorite shows on Netflix.
