A dedicated and focused athlete whose exceptional height adds an important dimension to A&M's front row...The August graduate brings three years of starting experience, the last two years as an opposite and her freshman year as a middle blocker...Has developed into a go-to player and will be a key to the team's success...One of only a few players who is exceptionally effective at executing different tempos on attack, opening up a wide array of options on offense...Is particularly effective and difficult to stop when running a quick attack in front of the setter...Continues to expand her game and is expected to see more action in the back row in her final season, presenting yet another attack option...On defense, uses her range and long reach to put up a solid block and defend a broad span along the net...Her serve can be a lethal weapon...Is a quick learner and quiet competitor who will be relied on to contribute to the team wherever needed.

An All-Big 12 first team selection as an opposite, played in all but one set and started all but six matches in which defensive specialist Sarah Grace started for her in the back row...Received the Texas A&M Most Improved Player Award after ranking second among starters with 2.71 kills and a .298 hitting percentage for the full season...Was third among starters with 3.19 points per set...Hit .301 in conference matches only, ranking 10th in the league...Led or tied for the team lead in kills in nine matches and in points in eight matches...Posted double figures in kills in 15 matches and hit .369 when posting 10 or more kills...Had the first double-double of her career with 11 kills and 10 digs at Stephen F. Austin.
2010 (SOPHOMORE)
After serving as a starting middle blocker as a freshman, switched to opposite and played in 27 of 30 matches and made 16 starts...Also subbed in as an outside hitter on the left side in several matches...Posted double figures in kills in three matches, including a career-high 13 kills in a five-set match against Pacific...Concluded the season with a team-leading 10 kills in a three-set contest against No. 5 Nebraska...Garnered all-tournament honors for the first time in her career after hitting .308 and averaging 2.62 kills, 0.75 blocks and 3.25 points per set while helping the Aggies to a 3-0 record at the University of Denver's Pioneer Classic...Finished the season ranked third on the team in kills (1.84) and points (2.24) per set for the full season...Named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
2009 (FRESHMAN)
Played in 87 sets in 28 of 31 matches and drew the starting nod in 24 matches at the middle blocker position...Named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week following her collegiate debut weekend...Made her first A&M career appearance in the third set of the season-opening sweep against Iona at the Texas A&M Invitational and responded with three kills in three attempts...Also came off the bench in the next two matches and help lead the Aggies to a 3-0 record and the tournament title after hitting a combined .700, posting 14 kills with zero errors in 20 attack attempts...Drew her first start against Saint Mary's in the fourth match of the season and posted six blocks, her season high...Led or tied for the team lead in blocks in 12 matches overall...Posted double figures in kills in a crucial 3-1 victory at Oklahoma, recording a career-best 10 kills while hitting .429 against the Sooners...Finished the season ranked second among A&M starters and 10th in the Big 12 with a .296 hitting percentage for the full season...In Big 12 matches only, led A&M and ranked 10th in the conference with a .282 hitting efficiency.
PREVIOUS ATHLETIC EXPERIENCE
A highly decorated four-year member of the All Saints Episcopal varsity volleyball team, was a two-time recipient of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) Female Athlete of the Year award (2006 and 2007)...Coached by Cristy O'Bannon, was a four-time member of the TAPPS 4A all-state first team and the All-East Texas first team and also garnered District 2-4A MVP honors all four years...In addition, was a three-time All-East Texas Player of the Year and was named the All-East Texas Newcomer of the Year as a freshman...Posted 2,588 career kills -- including 48 kills in a TAPPS regional win against Bay Area Christian School on Oct. 29, 2008 -- while leading the Trojans to 112-26 (.812) record, two district championship titles and three state runner-up finishes during her career...Played club ball for Sport Volleyball for a year and competed at the 2009 USA Junior Olympic Girls' Volleyball Championships in the National Division...Coached by Antonella and Sheridan Perez, also competed for ACE Volleyball Club for one year...Named to PrepVolleyball.com's list of top 50 junior recruits and was No. 86 in the website's list of top 250 senior recruits for the high school Class of 2009...Also an accomplished basketball player, competed in the sport her first three years of high school...Was a three-time member of the basketball all-district first team and collected district MVP laurels as sophomore and junior...Also earned basketball first-team all-state laurels as a junior and all-state honorable mention as a freshman and was named to the state all-tournament team her final two seasons...Named to the academic all-state team for volleyball as a junior and senior and for basketball as a junior... Most memorable athletic moment of prep career was when her high school volleyball team advanced to the state finals for the first time in school history.
PERSONAL
Alisia Lea Kastmo is the daughter of Jan-Harry and Lea Kastmo...Is the third of four children...Her father competed in heavyweight boxing in Norway, and her grandfather, Joseph Stephenson, played football for the Vanderbilt Commodores from 1953-55...Alisia first began playing volleyball when she was 10 years old, playing in the backyard with her older sister, Bethany...Began playing organized volleyball when she was in the sixth grade...Made only official recruiting visit to Texas A&M even though she garnered interest from many top schools including Texas, Nebraska, Stanford and Penn State...Chose to attend A&M because, "I woke up one morning and had complete peace that A&M was where I was supposed to go"...Also liked the passion of the coaches and the team feeling from the players...Hobbies include rollerblading, swimming, playing basketball, baking, singing, ping pong and guitar...Is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes...Has volunteered at Aggie Athletes Involved events and at FCA Sports Camp...Is a three-time Champs/Texas A&M Scholar Athlete...Received her bachelor's degree in finance in August and will be enrolled in Texas A&M's Master of Real Estate Program this fall...Born September 7, 1991 in Tyler, Texas.
