Has incredible strength in her hands and provides consistent placement with her sets...Does a beautiful job of taking every ball with her hands no matter how low the pass...Has good size and plays at a high level at the net...Will jump set at every opportunity...Makes high contact with her sets, enabling hitters to attack the ball as soon as it releases from her hands...Loves to run the middle attack...Also keeps defenses off guard with her attacking mindset...Has developed into the team's best blocking setter...Her competitive drive hastens the development of the entire corps of A&M setters.

2011 - Sophomore
Was plagued by a knee injury throughout much
of the season...Came off the bench and appeared in two matches and four sets.
2010 - Freshman
A key reserve who appeared in 16 sets and 14 matches while backing up starting setter Allie Sawatzky...Played one set in the sweep against Sam Houston State and recorded career highs of 10 assists and five digs while directing the Aggies to a 25-16 win...Had eight assists in a partial set against Pacific...Subbed in near the end of the first set against Texas Tech and posted a personal-best three kills -- including the set-winning kill -- in three attempts and also tallied five assists as the Aggies hit .375 in the frame.
Previous Athletic Experience
Was a three-year starting setter and right-side hitter for coach Vilis Ozols at Mullen High School...Led the Mustangs to back-to-back district and regional championships, as well as a state runner-up finish and a state semifinal appearance her last two seasons...Was a two-time Class 4A all-state second-team selection, earning first-team honors in 2008 and second-team honors in 2009...Also tabbed first-team academic all-state in 2008 and 2009...Named to the state all-tournament team as a junior...Is a three-time All-Centennial League performer, earning her second consecutive first-team citation in 2009 after leading Mullen to a 26-4 overall record...Was tabbed by the Rocky Mountain News as one of the top 4A right side hitters in the state entering the 2008 season...Also was recognized by the Denver Post as one of the best setters/right-side hitters in the state entering the 2009 season and was named to the AVCA's All-American Watch List...Was a PrepVolleyball.com "Soph 79" honorable mention in 2007 and a PrepVolleyball.com academic All-American in 2009...Most recently played club ball for Colorado Performance Volleyball Club...Coached by Michelle Buckner and Gavin Markovits, her 17s team tied for 13th at the 2009 USA Volleyball Girls Junior Olympics National Division...Named regional all-star for Rocky Mountain Region in 2009 after leading Colorado Performance to the regional championship.

Allison Margaret Freiwald is the daughter of Jim and Cindy Freiwald, who played volleyball at DePauw University...Has a younger sister, Maddie...Was on the student council at Mullen High School and also served as vice president of her sophomore class and was class president as both a junior and senior...Was a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society and Young Republicans...Began playing volleyball at the age of 10...Most memorable moment in athletics was going to state her junior and senior years of high school, as well as winning the Northern Lights qualifier as a junior...Only official recruiting trip was to Texas A&M after she had already committed but received numerous offers from other schools, including West Point, Wyoming, Denver and Miami of Ohio...Chose to sign with the Aggies because, "I love all the traditions and the loyalty to the sports teams, and I also wanted to go somewhere warm and out of state"...Hobbies include playing all kinds of sports, skiing, and reading "Twilight"...A 2010-11 Champs/Texas A&M scholar athlete, is majoring in general studies...Career ambition is "to do whatever makes me happy"...Born May 10, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois.
