A top-notch athlete who has spent three seasons training and learning from the upperclassmen on the team...Is primed to contribute as a starter or by providing a spark off the bench...Is a naturally gifted athlete with a great vertical jump and a powerful arm swing...Also is a mentally tough competitor who will to go head-to-head with anyone...Is aggressive with every swing...With her jump and long reach, has the potential to become one of the team’s best outside blockers...Has an effectively jump serve and will be looking to score many points for the team...Is very coachable and has made considerable improvement in all facets of her game...Is from an Aggie family and is excited to be playing volleyball for Texas A&M.

2013 (SENIOR)
Appeared in 17 matches and 34 sets...Came off the bench at Northern Colorado (Sept. 22) and sparked A&M to a 3-1 victory with a career-high 12 kills...Recorded double-figure kills in three matches and hit a combined .338 when posting 10 or more kills...Hit .210 and averaged 1.71 kills and 1.82 points per set for the full season.
2012 (JUNIOR)
Provided a spark off the bench, appearing in 14 matches and 25 sets...Was instrumental in A&M’s come-from-behind 3-2 victory at Georgia, hitting .333 while posting career highs with seven kills and eight points in three sets as the Aggies overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the host Bulldogs on Nov. 11 in Athens...In the season-opening Texas A&M Invitational, had four kills and no errors in seven attempts in three sets against No. 5 USC...Tallied a career-high seven digs along with four kills in two sets in A&M’s sweep against Stony Brook at the Yale Classic...Averaged 1.52 kills and 1.70 points per set for the full season...In conference matches only, averaged 1.80 kills and 2.03 points per set.
2011 (SOPHOMORE)
Appeared in four matches and four sets.
2010 (FRESHMAN)
Appeared in five matches and five sets...Made her career debut against Sam Houston State (Sept. 1) and posted one kill in the Aggies' sweep against the Bearkats...Also recorded a kill in a sweep at Texas Tech.
PREVIOUS ATHLETIC EXPERIENCE
Was a three-year starter as an outside hitter and middle blocker for coach Debbie Jaehne at Cy Creek High School and was one of the best outside hitters coming out of the Houston area in 2010...In a district loaded with talent, was tabbed District 15-5A MVP and The Sun player of the year as a senior after leading the Cougars to a 25-16 overall record...Also was named to the all-district first team for the second consecutive year after leading the district in aces and ranking second in kills...Was a member of the 2009 TGCA Academic All-State Team and the 2009 TGCA 4A-5A Texas All-Star team...Was on the 2009 AVCA High School All-American watch list and received special recognition on LoneStarVolleyball.com's? All-Texas Team, as well as a second honorable mention selection as an outside hitter from the website...The two-time Cy Creek team MVP earned TGCA 5A All-State honors as a junior...Led District 15-5A in aces and block assists and was third in kills...As a sophomore, received honorable mention on PrepVolleyball.com's list of top sophomores in the nation...Most recently played club ball for Texas Elite 18 Black and placed fifth in the 18 American Division at 2010 USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships...Took first place at the 2009 Tour of Texas and placed 19th in USAV Junior Olympics Open Division as a member of Asics Willowbrook 17 Red...Finished 10th in the 2008 J.O.s 16 Open Division with Willowbrook 16 Red...Was a four-year member of the varsity track team at Cy Creek...Competed in the 400 meters, 4x400 relay, high jump, 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and 4x200 relay...Was a regional qualifier in both the 100m hurdles and 4x400 relay as a junior, and qualified for regionals in the 4x200 relay as a senior...Was a member of the junior varsity soccer team as a freshman and was the team's top goal scorer.

Ashley Leah Vrana is the daughter of Jeff and Kelly Vrana, both members of Texas A&M Class of '84...Has a younger sister, Lindsey, and a younger brother, Justin...Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cy Creek High School ...Began playing volleyball at the age of 11...Her only official recruiting visit was to Texas A&M...Chose to play for A&M because "both my parents attended A&M and I grew up going to football games at Kyle Field and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and traditions"...Hobbies include drawing, painting, playing the ukulele and reading...Volunteers at the Brazos Animal Shelter and also has been involved with Sports for Kids, Special Olympics, Aggie Kids Club and Aggies CAN food drive...Is a Champs/Texas A&M Scholar Athlete award recipient...Majoring in wildlife and fisheries, career ambition is to be a veterinarian...Born December 8, 1991 in Houston, Texas.
