Appeared in 16 of 18 SEC matches, averaging 2.12 kills, 0.77 blocks and 2.60 points per set in conference matches only.
2017 (FRESHMAN)
Started 10 matches, including her career debut in the season opener against Sam Houston State…Played in 17 of 25 matches overall, missing several midseason matches due to a shoulder injury…Set a school record for hitting percentage (with 10-14 attempts) at Mississippi State, coming off the bench in the second set and finishing the match hitting .909 with a career-high 10 kills without an error in 11 attempts…Hit .221 for the full season, averaging 1.23 kills and 1.71 points per set…Also averaged 0.81 blocks per set in all matches…Led or tied for the team lead in total blocks in five matches…Was named Best Blocker at the season-opening Texas A&M Invitational.
PREVIOUS ATHLETIC EXPERIENCE
Was a four-year varsity member and three-year starter at middle blocker for coach Renee Lamar-Bryant at Xavier College Preparatory…Helped lead the Gators to four conference titles as well as four top-four finishes in the state tournament…As a senior, was named to the Under Armour All-American first team and also was a PrepVolleyball.com All-American…Was selected to VolleyballMag.com Girls High School All-American second team…Was a PrepVolleyball.com National Senior Player of the Year finalist and also was No. 97 in the website’s Senior Aces, a list of the top recruits in the nation…Tabbed the AZCentral.com Big Schools Girls Volleyball Athlete of the Year and also was named first-team All-Arizona…Earned all-state second team honors as a junior after leading Xavier to a state runner-up finish…Received all-state honorable mention as a sophomore…Most memorable moment in athletics is playing in the AVCA/Under Armour All-American match.
PERSONAL
From an athletic family, her mom, Carlette, swam at Arizona State and her dad, the late Steve Patterson, played basketball for legendary coach John Wooden at UCLA, where he won three national championships before playing in the NBA for the Bulls and Cavaliers from 1970-75…Began playing volleyball when she was 9 years old…Only official recruiting visit was to Texas A&M…Chose to attend A&M because she has family that lives nearby and she had a couple family members who attended Texas A&M…She also chose A&M because she loved the history and all the traditions, as well as the culture of the school and how the team is like family…Wears No. 10 because that also was her mom’s number…Hobbies include listening to music, taking pictures/videos, and traveling…Is active in FCA…Volunteered at Sports Fest 2018, where she played and taught the sport of volleyball to young kids…Also volunteered at The Big Event, the largest one-day, student-run service project in the nation in which Aggies assist residents within the community...Taught basic volleyball skills to the Brookwood Community group and gave them a tour of Reed Arena…A member of the AD's Aacdemic Honor Roll in 2018 and 2019...Is majoring in psychology…Career ambition is to be a sport psychologist.
