- Named to the U.S. National Team in 2016-17 and 2017-18
- Became the first current Aggie swimmer to earn a medal at an Olympic or World Championship event with a silver medal in the 200 breaststroke at the 2017 FINA World Championships
- 2016 SEC Champion in the 200 breaststroke
2016-17 (Junior):
- At the 2017 FINA World Championships, Galat became the first current Aggie swimmer to earn a medal at an Olympic or World Championship event with a silver medal in the 200 breaststroke
- At the Phillips 66 National Championships and World Trials, Galat placed second in the 200 breast, third in the 100 breast and fifth in the 200 IM. Her runner-up finish in the 200 breast earned her a spot on Team USA at Worlds
- At the NCAA Championships, earned first-team All-America honors in the 200 IM (5th) and 400 IM (4th) and honorable mention in the 200 breast (9th)
- At the SEC Championships, Galat placed third in the 200 IM, second in the 400 IM and third in the 200 breaststroke
- Posted season bests of 22.77 in the 50 free, 1:01.42 in the 100 breast, 2:06.68 in the 200 breast, 1:54.16 in the 200 IM and 4:01.06 in the 400 IM
2015-16 (Sophomore):
- At the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, Galat was third in the 400 IM (4:38.39) and 200 breast (2:24.52) and sixth in the 200 IM (2:12.82)
- At the US Open, Galat was the No. 3 high scorer in the meet with 73 points. She placed first in the 200 breast and 400 IM, second in the 200 IM and third in the 100 breast. Also swam legs on the Aggies’ winning 400 medley and 800 free relays
- At the NCAA Championships, Galat earned first-team All-America honors in the 200 breast (5th) and 400 IM (5th) and honorable mention honors in the 200 IM (9th) and with the 400 medley relay (11th)
- At the SEC Championships, Galat won the 200 breast, was second in the 200 IM and third in the 400 IM
- Led the team in the 200 breast (2:07.18) and 400 IM (4:04.06) and ranked second in the 100 breast (1:00.33) and 200 IM (1:55.22).
2014-2015 (Freshman):
- Swam in the US Nationals before stepping foot on campus, earning seventh place in the 50 breast (31.44)
- Enjoyed a fast start to her college career, earning the top time of the season for the Aggies in both the 200 IM (1:55.48) and 100 breast (59.44), ninth and 10th-place finishes, respectively, both at Nationals
- Made a huge contribution at the Art Adamson Invitational, swimming in 10 total events; made NCAA ‘B’ cuts in the 50 free (22.57), the 400 IM (4:09.58), and with a first place finish in the 200 breast (2:09.02)
- Came in fourth place in the 200 IM (1:56.53) at the SEC Championships
- Swam on the Aggies’ fastest 200 free relay team (1:27.85) at the NCAA Championships.
High School/Club:
- No. 13-ranked swimmer in the nation by collegeswimming.com and the top recruit in the state of Indiana
- 2014 graduate of Penn High School
- State Champion in the 200 IM from 2012-14 and the 100 breast in both 2013 and 2014
- Set seven school records
- Competed for the South Bend Swim Club under coach John Van Driessche for six years where she became the 2013 Junior National Champion in the 100 breast
- Was named team MVP all four years of high school
- Featured in ‘Faces in the Crowd’ segment of the January 2014 issue of Sports Illustrated, which highlights the nation’s top amateur athletes
- City of Mishawaka, Indiana officially declared August 18th, 2014 “Bethany Galat Day” for her accomplishments in the pool.
