At the SEC Champtionship, Portz finished sixth in the 200 Free (1:45.12) and earned a NCAA B-cut, 11^th in the 500 Free (4:42.54) while beating her personal best and earning a NCAA B-cut, and earning another NCAA B-cut in the 100 Free (49.50)
At the Art Adamson Invitational, Portz earned a NCAA-B cut time in the 200 Free (1:47.10)
Touched the wall first in the 200 Free (1:50.09) at the dual meet against SMU
Clinched third in the 200 Free (1:49.87) against Georgia
Earned gold in the 200 Free (1:49.12) and 500 Free (44:55.51) in the dual meet against LSU
Against Arkansas, Portz clinched first in the 200 Free (1:48.77) and second in the 100 Free (50.72)

Portz was the top-rated senior swimmer in the state of Michigan, according to CollegeSwimming.com
Portz was a 2016 Olympic Trials qualifier in the 200 freestyle and had a U.S. Open qualifying time in the 100 free
After winning four events at the 2015 Michigan Div. I state finals and earning All-America honors in seven races, was named the MHSAA Swimmer of the Year, as well as Swimmer of the Year by the Ann Arbor News
Individually, broke the Div. I finals record in the 100-yard freestyle with a winning time of 49.34 and also won the 200 free in 1:46.84
Was coached at Skyline High School by Maureen "Mojo" Issac, and also swam for Club Wolverine.
