2015-16 (Junior):
Had a breakthrough junior season that included three school records, a pair of SEC Championships and first-team or honorable mention All-America honors in seven races … set school records of 1:43.41 in the 200 free (opening leg of 800 free relay at NCAAs) and 50.61 in the 100 fly and with the 400 medley relay … saw action in multiple races at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, placing third in the 100 fly, 16th in the 800 free and reaching the semifinals of the 200 free and 200 fly … was the meet’s No. 2 high scorer with 84 points at the US Open … posted a win in the 100 fly and placed fourth in the 200 fly, fifth in the 200 free, seventh in the 100 free and 1,500 free … at the NCAA Championships, Gibson was second in the 100 fly, tied for fifth in the 200 fly and 10th in the 500 free … swam legs on the Aggies’ 400 free relay (3rd), 800 free relay (4th), 200 medley relay (5th) and 400 medley relay (11th) ... swam in a trio of individual events at the 2015 Phillips 66 US Nationals which included an appearance in the A-final 800 free (8:43.12); was also a part of the Aggies’ first-place 800 free relay team (4:05.14) and second-place 400 medley relay team (8:06.07)…
2014-2015 (Sophomore)
Swam the 200 free at the Phillips 66 US Nationals in the summer leading up to her sophomore year… finished in first place in four freestyle events and was a part of five first-place relay teams this year… won the championship final in the 100 fly with a personal best 53.01 at the Speedo Championships Series... set a slew of personal bests during crunch time at the SEC Championships in the 1,000 free (9:53.88), 1,650 free (16:20.47), and 200 free (1:45.49), the latter being the fastest of any Aggie this season in the event which earned fourth-place in the A-Final… was on the fastest A&M 800 free relay team of the year when the Aggies took second in the event at the SEC Championships… sported a team second-best at Nationals in the 500 free (4:41.64).
2013-2014 (Freshman)
Gibson improved throughout the season and added to the depth of the program. Early in the season, Gibson competed at the Art Adamson Invitational competed in the 50 free (23.45), 100 free (50.44), 200 free (1:48.30), 500 free (4:49.33), and the 1650 free (16:44.18). At the Speedo Champions Series, Gibson swam the 1000 in 9:56.45, which is the fourth fastest on the team this season. Gibson was in the top five for the season in three events, the 500 free (4:46.87), 1000 free, and 1650 free (16:44.18).
High School/Club:
2013 graduate of Ronald Reagan High School … four-year letter winner … 2013 State Champion in 100 free and silver medalist in 200 free … school record holder for 50 free (23.80), 100 free (50.14), 200 free relay (1:34.94), and 400 free relay (3:28.09) … also competed for the Alamo Area Aquatics Association for 10 years and was coached by Larry Hough and Lou Walker … was a Junior National and National Open Water Competitor … earned NISCA All- America honors for 100 free, 200 free, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay … Academic All-America honoree … was a National Merit Finalist and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Sarah Gibson is the daughter of William Gibson and Cheryl King of San Antonio, Texas … born on April 20, 1995 in Colorado Springs, Colorado … has one younger sibling: Jason …been swimming competitively since the age of 5 … intends to major in biomedical engineering … says she chose A&M because “I felt that the program here had the most to offer me in terms of improvement, and conversely I could become an asset to the team as well.”
