Carly Fancher joined Texas A&M Athletics in July 2024 as the assistant athletics director for performance nutrition.
Fancher oversees all aspects of performance nutrition for Aggie Football, providing individualized nutrition plans, team education and fueling strategies to optimize student-athlete health, recovery and performance.
Fancher arrived in Aggieland after serving as director of sports nutrition at Auburn University, where she led a team of registered dietitians, interns and student workers, managed budgets, and collaborated with coaches, chefs and medical staff to optimize student-athlete performance and well-being. At Auburn, she also developed academic curriculum, implemented a dietetic internship rotation and oversaw all operations of the student-athlete dining facility.
Prior to her time at Auburn, Fancher was a performance dietitian with KBR and Air Force Special Operations Command, providing evidence-based nutrition strategies for special operations forces and leading research initiatives to enhance cognitive and physical performance. She also established the first sports nutrition program at the University of Central Florida, serving as a key member of the executive leadership committee and overseeing fueling stations, team education and individualized nutrition planning for all sports.
Fancher’s earlier experience includes roles as a sports dietitian at Wake Forest University and Clemson University, where she provided individualized nutrition counseling, managed fueling stations and contributed to performance and wellness programming for student-athletes across multiple sports.
A licensed and board-certified specialist in sports dietetics, Fancher holds a master’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Florida State University and a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Arizona State University. She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietitians Association.
