Easton Herring
- Title:
- Director of Player Development
Easton Herring joined head coach Trisha Ford’s staff as director of player development in October 2025. He arrived in Aggieland following coaching stints at Wichita State, Austin Peay and Virginia Tech.
Herring spent two seasons at Wichita State as an assistant coach, specializing on the defensive side. During his tenure with the Shockers, he helped develop four All-Conference First Team selections and assisted the program in reaching the American Athletic Conference Tournament championship game in 2024.
Prior to Wichita State, Herring served as defensive coach and assistant coach at Austin Peay before joining nationally ranked Virginia Tech as a volunteer assistant, catching and outfield coordinator and first base coach in 2022.
During his season at Virginia Tech, Herring developed scouting reports for the Top 10-ranked Hokies, who finished 46-10 with 14 wins over Top 25 opponents and hosted both an NCAA Regional and Super Regional. The Hokies also placed a conference-high 11 players on the All-Atlantic Coast Conference teams.
Before his time at Virginia Tech, Herring spent one season as a volunteer assistant at Wichita State, serving as the catching and outfield coordinator.
As a volunteer assistant in 2021, Herring helped guide the Shockers to a 31-23 overall record and an 18-13 mark in AAC play. The conference win total was the program’s highest since joining the league prior to the 2018 season.
That season, Wichita State had five players earn All-Conference First Team honors, including Freshman All-American and Newcomer Pitcher of the Year Jace Kaminska.
A native of Pratt, Kansas, Herring also served as a graduate manager at Wichita State from 2018 to 2020 before being elevated to volunteer assistant coach.
Prior to arriving at Wichita State, Herring attended and played two seasons of baseball at Newman University.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Newman in December 2018 and a master’s degree in sport management from Wichita State in May 2020.
Herring also served as head coach of the Hutchinson Monarchs during the summer of 2020 in the Sunflower Collegiate League, leading the team to a third-place finish at the NBC World Series, the highest in program history, and its first SCL championship with a 32-8 overall record.
Herring is a 2013 graduate of Pratt High School and also attended Southeast Community College in Beatrice, Nebraska, and Seward County Community College.
He and his wife, Tara, reside in College Station with their son, Kannon.
