Katlyn Ghavidel joined the Athletics Department in the Spring of 2025 and serves as Business Coordinator. Her primary focus is assisting with the purchasing process and expense tracking for numerous sports and units within the department.
A former student-athlete, Ghavidel graduated from Colgate University as a double major in economics and educational studies. She was a four-year letterwinner on the Raiders' women's basketball team and served as the team's representative on the Colgate Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). While at Colgate, Ghavidel was a member of the inaugural NCAA Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete Engagement Group, serving as the Patriot League’s representative for two seasons where she gave feedback to NCAA Championships staff and athletics directors on important issues facing the sport of women’s basketball.
Upon graduation she spent one season as the championships and administration intern for the Big Sky Conference in the Salt Lake City area. Among her duties with the conference she assisted with day-to-day functions of conference legislation, business operations and championship planning, as well as planning fan-facing events around the Big Sky basketball championship in Boise, Idaho.
Ghavidel then spent two years at Tennessee as a graduate assistant in the student-athlete development office en route to earning her master's degree in recreation and sport management. She was selected for the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar program in 2023 and received a Women Leaders in Sports Convention scholarship in 2024.
A native of Boerne, Texas, Ghavidel was a four-year basketball captain at Boerne Champion high school where she scored over 2,500 points and set the Texas state record with 478 3-pointers made.
She is a member of the Women Leaders in Sports and the College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA).
