Samantha Wood joined the Athletics Department in the Spring of 2022 and serves as Director of Athletics Human Resources. In her role she serves the department as a Human Resources liaison and is responsible for helping hire and onboard new full-time staff, student workers, volunteers and summer camp counselors.
A native of Pella, Iowa, Wood is a 2020 graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in Health and Human Physiology/Exercise Science and a minor in Sports and Recreation Management. Prior to Aggieland, Samantha worked as an assistant swim coach for the Iowa City Eels (ICE) and Southeast Aquatics, and in the summers served as head coach for the Pella Swim Team.
She is married to Kody Wood, a Director on the Athletics Facilities and Operations staff, and enjoys spending time outdoors, hanging out with her husband, two cats and dog, reading and being in fellowship at Declaration Church.
