After four years as a student manager, Shane Thomas was promoted to an assistant equipment manager for the Aggie football program in April 2023.
In his role, Thomas helps oversee day-to-day operations of equipment room; orders, inventories and distributes all team apparel to players, coaches and staff; and helps manage a staff of student workers who assist the team during practices and games.
A native of Troup, Texas, Thomas spent his undergraduate years as a football manager while working toward his degree in Sports Management with minors in RPTS (Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences) and Tourism Management. After earning his degree, Thomas went to grad school and earned his Master's in Sports Management from A&M in 2023. In his final year as a student, Thomas was the Aggies' head student equipment manager.
