Stacey Kisil, who joined the Athletics Department in 2022, is in her second year working as a senior associate athletic trainer with the Texas A&M women’s basketball team and her third under Coach Joni Taylor. Before coming to Aggieland, Kisil had spent the previous five years at the University of Georgia, serving as the head athletic trainer for women’s basketball, and track and field before that, during her stint in Athens.
Kisil has worked with a vast variety of world-class athletes and has played a crucial role in their rehab and development. She served as the athletic trainer for the Georgia track and field team, which won the school’s first-ever men’s outdoor national championship and claimed the program’s first women’s indoor national title in 2018.
The Etobicoke, Ontario Canada native has a wealth of knowledge in the athletic training and therapy field. Before her time at UGA, she owned Stacey Kisil Athletic Therapy, which serviced professional football players in the CFL, professional and semi-professional hockey players, and other community members.
Kisil served as an assistant athletic therapist for the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts football team from 2012-14 and was the head therapist for the Bay Street Pigs rugby football team during that time. Before her time with those programs, she was the head athletic therapist for the Hamilton Redwings Jr. “A” hockey club.
She began her career as a student therapist for four organizations between 2010-13 -- the Crossfit Coliseum Athletic Training Facility, Wishbone Athletics, Inc., the Hamilton Hurricanes football club and the Toronto Argonauts.
Kisil is a certified athletic trainer ATC, licensed athletic trainer in the State of Texas, certified strength and conditioning coach (CSCS) with the NSCA, CPR/first aid certified, and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
She currently holds three post-secondary education degrees. Kisil earned a bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University in 2009. She also has a bachelor of Applied Health Science from Sheridan College and a master’s of science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Georgia in 2019.
