Jacob Winger is in his first year as a Sports Field Coordinator where he is responsible for maintaining the playing surfaces at Kyle Field and the Coolidge Practice Fields. He also assists with the other Texas A&M athletic fields as necessary.

Winger is a graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management and Science. As a student he worked for Purdue Athletics on the grounds crew assisting in day-to-day maintenance. Following his graduation he worked as a full-time assistant groundskeeper with Purdue, focusing on softball and football before moving to College Station.

Winger is originally from Lebanon, Indiana, where his family still resides. He grew up surrounded by the green industry and found a passion early on for turfgrass management, specifically sport field management following time spent during internships and student work.
