Jonathan Wallace serves as Assistant Athletics Director for Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) and Sport Administrator for Cross Country and Track & Field at Texas A&M.
Wallace leads the department's NIL program, overseeing education, reporting, compliance coordination, group licensing and resources designed to help student-athletes navigate NIL. He serves as the primary NIL liaison for student-athletes, coaches, staff, third parties and local businesses, working within university, state, federal and NCAA guidelines.
As Sport Administrator, Wallace oversees operational, budgetary, compliance and student-athlete welfare initiatives for Cross Country and Track & Field while supporting competitive excellence and the long-term success of the programs. During his tenure, Texas A&M claimed the 2025 NCAA Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship and the 2025 SEC Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship.
Prior to moving into his current role in April 2024, Wallace served as Executive Director of Administration and Chief of Staff for Texas A&M Athletics. He joined the department as Director of Administration in August 2022 and was promoted to Executive Director of Administration and Chief of Staff in August 2023. In that role, he advised the Director of Athletics on strategic and operational priorities, managed the day-to-day operations of the administration office and oversaw communications from the Director's office. He also served as a liaison between athletics, university departments and external partners.
Wallace joined Texas A&M in 2019 and has held leadership roles in athletics administration, student-athlete development and academic services. As Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Engagement, he planned career development and community service programming, taught the First Year Experience 101 course for first-year student-athletes and advised the B.L.U.E.print student-athlete organization. Earlier, he served as Scholastic Supervisor for Football, helping oversee academic support, recruitment operations, transition programming and NCAA eligibility services.
Before arriving at Texas A&M, Wallace worked at Grambling State University as Varsity Club Coordinator and Academic Coordinator, supporting athletic fundraising, alumni engagement, student-athlete development and NCAA compliance.
Wallace has participated in the SEC Administrators Opportunity Forum, NACDA U Senior Administrators Mentoring Institute and NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute. His honors include the 2022 N4A Model Practice Award in student-athlete development, the Texas A&M Advisors and Counselors Advising Team Award, and scholarship support from N4A and NAAC.
A native of Rayville, Louisiana, Wallace earned a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Louisiana State University Shreveport, a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Grambling State University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Grambling State University.
As an undergraduate, Wallace served as president of the Student Government Association and became the first student-athlete in Grambling State history elected student body president. He was a four-year letter winner and team captain on the G-Men football team. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
