Dr. Roger Feldman was an Iowa State graduate but arrived as a faculty member at Texas A&M in the 1960s and was an Assistant Professor of Veterinary Pathology for many years and retired as Professor Emeritus in the Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.
Since his arrival, Feldman was not only a fan of Aggie athletics but was the public address voice at Kyle Field for both football and track and field as well as handling duties for basketball and volleyball in G. Rollie White Coliseum. He also announced cross country meets. Feldman continued to serve as a track and field official including this past indoor season in College Station.
Feldman was honored by the Texas A&M Lettermen’s Association as a Hall of Honor member in 1998 for his dedication to Aggie athletics.
A charter member and past president of OPAS, Friends of the Medical Library Society and the Brazos Valley Symphony Society, Feldman was honored by the Association of Former Students with a Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award, served as a faculty member of the Memorial Student Center Council and was a founding member of the A&M Mentors Program.
Many Texas A&M graduates heard their name called when it came time for commencement exercises in G. Rollie White and Reed Arena and he continued to announce the graduates from the College of Veterinary Medicine for over 40 years.
Feldman passed away in College Station on February 25, 2015 at the age of 89.
