Texas A&M Head Coach Tony Barone:
"Bonewitz is a great three point shooter. The shots he made today in all my years, I have never seen any cleaner shots, they were rockets from long range."
"Carr has the ability to be a pro athlete because he is an unbelievable kid. I have always been in this business for the kids and I wish I had 17 of him. After the game he came up to me and said, God always has a reason for doing things. I thought that was an amazing comment from a kid."
"Tech is a well coached team and they took advantage of the mismatch with Bonewitz and Carr."
"I take full blame for the play at the end. We were going for three because with our numbers I didn't think we could last in overtime. I am proud of the kids after what they have went through this week. I am absolutely thrilled with them."
On effort by Brian and being sick today:
"Brian shouldn't have played today. I was a selfish coach and a bad dad. He is a big boy, he will be okay."
A&M Player Steve Houston:
On what they felt after Tech missed the technical free throws: "We knew we were still in game and with the missed technical free throw we thought we could do it."
On Tech switch to zone at half: "I pictured they would come out in a different defense since we had a good first half. I expected it."
On playing defense on Carr: "Cory is a great player. We just tried to minimize his touches and keep it out of his hands."
A&M Player Shanne Jones:
On another loss: "It is like a rerun. Same thing over and over, we have lead sometime during the game and we find a way to let it slip through our hands."
Texas Tech Head Coach James Dickey:
"Let me start by saying I feel for Barone and his family. This is a difficult time. He is an outstanding person and his teams always play hard. Our players executed well in second half and I was proud and pleased that the players went up to Coach Barone and said something after the game. I am disappointed for Coach Barone and his family."
On preparation for game: "I thought coming into the game we had to be ready or we would fall into a trap. We did a little in the first half."
On play of A&M: "A&M played hard to the end and part of what Tony (Barone) is feeling I can sympathize with because when struggling it is hard to make play at end."
Texas Tech Player Stan Bonewitz: "I came out early on and had some good shots and I felt good. A&M played hard and it was good to get a win."
Texas Tech Player Cory Carr:
On the game: "Nothing fancy just fundamental basketball. We need to play more like this. We will build on this win and get ready for the Cornhuskers."
On What he said to Barone after the game: "I know he is going through tough time. He is a class act coach and his record doesn't show how good his player are nor his coaching ability. I told him to keep his head up and keep his hands in Gods and the rest will take care of itself."
