Nancy Bennett, the wife of former Texas A&M football player and defensive coordinator Phil Bennett, passed away early Saturday morning at Mercy Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas.
Mrs. Bennett never regained consciousness after being struck by lightning on August 11.
Coach Bennett, the current defensive coordinator at Kansas State University, played defensive end for the Aggies from 1974-77. He served as the Texas A&M defensive coordinator in 1995-96.

A memorial service was held in Kansas on Monday and another memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Alvarado, Texas. Texas A&M Head Coach R.C. Slocum and several members of the Aggie athletic family will attend the service.
