
Aggies Start Season Ranked No. 24 Nationally

The Texas A&M softball team will start the 2003 season ranked No. 24 nationally in the USA Today/NFCA Division 1 Top 25 Poll, which was released Wednesday.
The Aggies finished the 2002 season ranked No. 21 nationally after reaching the NCAA regionals and narrowly missing the Women's College World Series.
The Big 12 is represented by four teams in the pre-season poll with Nebraska leading the way tied for fourth with Michigan. Nebraska is followed by No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 12 Texas and Texas A&M at No. 24.
The Pac-10 placed seven teams in the pre-season poll, the most of any conference, with UCLA ranked No. 1 followed by Arizona and California at numbers 2 and 3 respectively.
The Aggies are slated to play ten of the top 25 teams and five from the top ten. The Aggies face off against No. 10 Cal St. Fullerton on February 6th in Phoenix before playing No. 2 Arizona the following day. No. 4 Michigan comes to College Station on February 26th for a mid-week game. A&M will play No. 4 Nebraska, in College Station, on March 22nd and 23rd before closing out the regular season in Norman vesus No. 8 Oklahoma on April 26th and 27th.
Tickets for Aggie softball can be purchased over the phone by calling 979-845-2311 and toll-free at 888-99-AGGIE. Tickets may also be purchased at the athletic ticket office which is located in G. Rollie White and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Season tickets for Aggie Softball are $60. Single game prices are $6 for reserved, $4 for adult general admission and $3 for youth (high school and below) general admission.
The No. 24 Aggies open their season at home on February 4th when they take on Stephen F. Austin in a double header beginning at 3 p.m.
