
Aggies Close Exhibition Season with 96-53 win Against Ottawa

Junior Antoine Wright scored 22 points and had 11 rebounds to lead Texas A&M to a 96-53 exhibition victory against the University of Ottawa on Friday at Reed Arena.
The Aggies finished their exhibition schedule with a 2-0 record. A&M opens the regular season against North Carolina A&T at home next Friday.
"We still made too many mistakes, but I'm really pleased with how we're sharing the ball," first-year A&M coach Billy Gillispie said. "We have a long way to go, but we're doing some good things."
The Aggies led by as many as 26 points in the first half before settling for a 44-22 halftime lead. A&M led by as many as 44 points in the second half.
Wright led a group of five Aggies scoring in double figures. Sophomore Acie Law added 16 points, while junior Luis Clemente scored 12 and freshmen Kenneth White and Joseph Jones each had 11.
Teti Kabetu led Ottawa with 14 points.
A&M connected on 59.3 percent from the field to 33.3 percent by the Gee-Gees. The Aggies posted a 40-19 rebounding edge and forced 26 turnovers.
