JOHNSON KEEPS PRODUCING
Sophomore quarterback Jerrod Johnson had another strong game with 214 yards and three touchdowns on 15-of-31 passing. It was Johnson's fifth straight 200-yard passing effort and raised his season total to 1,967 yards after just nine games. Johnson had his fourth game with at least three passing touchdwons and raised his season total to 18, which is just one off the school record of 19 by Gary Kubiak (1982) and Dustin Long (2002). Johnson has throw 183 consecutive passes without an interception since he had two in the first half at Oklahoma State. The school record is 213 straight by Reggie McNeal from 2003-04.
BIG-PLAY DEFENSE
The Aggie defense allowed the Colorado offense to convert just 5-of-16 on third-down situations. It was the first time an A&M opponent has been below 50 percent on third down tries since the Miami game, span of five games. Colorado started the game 4-of-6 on third-downs, but was just 1-of- 10 the rest of the game, including 0-of-6 in the second half.
The Aggies had three interceptions, their most in a game since they had four in a 12-7 win at Texas in 2006. Jordan Pugh had one.
YOUTHFUL YARDAGE
The Aggies generated 308 yards of total offense, with 78.5 percent of those yards gained by underclassmen. Of A&M's total offense, 301 yards were generated by non-seniors.
True freshman wide receiver Jeff Fuller played like a veteran against the Buffaloes with six catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Fuller's two touchdowns raised his season total to seven, an A&M freshman record. Fuller is just one TD catch shy of the overall school record (8 by Bethel Johnson, 2002, and Bob Long in 1967 and 68).
True freshman Cyrus Gray had a career high 72 rushing yards on nine carries. His previous high was 69 yards (14 carries) last week at Iowa State.
True Freshman Ryan Tannehill had 5 catches for 80 yards, his fourth straight game with at least 78 receiving yards. For the season, Tannehill has 44 catches for 663 yards, extending his A&M freshman records in both categories.
RANDOM NOTES
The 12th Man was redshirt freshman Justin McQueen, a walkon defensive back from Dayton, Texas. McQueen, who started at nickel back against Arkansas, become the first player to start on offense or defense and at 12th Man in the same season. He is the first freshman 12th Man since John Ray was the 12th Man against Oklahoma in 2003.
Game captains were defensive tackle Lucas Patterson, offensive guard Justin Brantly. The Aggies won the toss and deferred to the second half.
