SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS (AP) - Bryan Davis had 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Josh Carter sank a big 3-pointer for Texas A&M in a 77-71 win over Kent State at the South Padre Invitational on Saturday.
B.J. Holmes added 15 points for the Aggies (5-1), who were coming off their first loss Friday to Tulsa. Carter's 3-pointer with 35 seconds left pushed Texas A&M's lead to five.
Al Fisher scored 17 of his 24 points for Kent State (3-2) in the second half.
Texas A&M outrebounded Kent State 35-19.

Holmes scored a career-high 15 points against Kent State, the second time in three games that he's set his career best. Holmes started the season 0-of-8 on three-pointers, but has since made 9-of-15.

*Junior forward Bryan Davis was named to the all-tournament team at the South Padre Island Invitational after scoring 15 points with 13 rebounds against Kent State for his second career double-double.
