Texas A&M junior Josh Carter has submitted his name for the 2008 NBA Draft but will not sign with an agent, leaving him the option of returning next season.
"It's a win-win situation for me," Carter said. "If I go to the NBA, it will fulfill a life-long dream; if not, I get to come back and play for the university I love."
Carter, a 6-foot-7 guard from Dallas, Carter earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors for the second straight season after leading the team with a 12.2 scoring average. He led the nation in three-point accuracy as a sophomore in 2006-07.
The Aggies finished 25-11 on the season - the third most wins in school history -- and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. A&M was eliminated by No. 1 seed UCLA, 51-49.
