Texas A&M Player Quotes
DB Trent Hunter:
"We came out early and played good defense. Everyone had their assigments down. They got some breaks on us early and it was hard for us to stop them after that. We came out in the second half and stopped them on the first drive, but we couldn't stop them consistently. They did a good job of driving the ball on us."
RB Cyrus Gray:
"Arkansas played very well and we didn't execute well at all. We couldn't get into a rhythm against them. We need to come back and get a good week of practice, and be prepared for Oklahoma State. (on atmosphere) We were excited to play here. It's a great environment for a football game. We're disappointed in the way we played, however, and we've got a lot of things that we can work on next week in practice."
'jack' Von Miller:
"We knew that they were going to adjust to what we were doing. There was a lot of pressure for the first plays. We were prepared for the game but we just couldn't get it done. We need a good week at practice to prepare for OSU next week. They have a lot of the same guys from last year on offense and defense. It will be the first conference game. We will just have to use this week to prepare."
LB Kyle Mangan:
"Both sides of the ball came out fired up and excited to play. We had a chance to put it away, and just lost focus. The lack of execution hurt us tonight. Arkansas had some good athletes. They had good receivers, and their line was strong up front. We missed some assignments, and were trying to do to much. Coach talks about us going out and just doing our job, and not trying to do too much, but we didn't do our job."
QB Jerrod Johnson:
"We had some missed opportunities in the game to put us up. We didn't make the most of big plays when we could have. We are just going to have to go back next week and get ready for Oklahoma State. I never want to scramble. I would prefer to sit in the pocket and throw the ball, but different situations presented themselves tonight. I think that I can scramble, but it's not my favorite thing to do. We are young but our young guys are very mature. We just need to stay course and handle adversity. For some of these guys this is their first college lose. We just can't go backwards. We have to adapt, over come, and move forward."
