FORT WORTH, Texas - No. 25 Oregon State scored six first-inning runs to take control of the game and eventually eliminate No. 18 Texas A&M from the NCAA Fort Worth Regional with a 13-5 win over the Aggies Sunday afternoon before 2,496 fans at Lupton Stadium.

The Beavers (37-18) put together an 18-hit attack and got a complete-game outing from junior Jorge Reyes on the mound to stay alive in the regional. With the loss, A&M concluded its 107th season of baseball with a 37-24 record.

OSU batted around in the first, sending 10 men to the plate and scoring six times off A&M starter Clayton Ehlert. The inning started off innocently enough, as Ehlert struck out the leadoff hitter, but a wild pitch allowed him to reach safely. Following a single to center, back-to-back infield singles produced the game's first run. Jared Norris followed with a bases-loaded, two-run double to the gap in left center, and the Beavers would tack on three more on a groundout and consecutive two-out RBI doubles to go up 6-0.

Ryan Ortiz made the score 7-0 with a two-out solo shot to left in the second.

Oregon State would plate its eighth run of the afternoon in the third, as John Tommasini drove an RBI single through a drawn-in infield.

Michael Miller drove in Joey Wong with a one-out single to left center in the fifth to extend the OSU lead to nine. Later in the frame, Koa Kahalehoe lined a double under the glove of Brooks Raley in left to drive in two more and make the score 11-0.

Joe Patterson put the Aggies on the board in the sixth, launching his 13th home run of the year--a solo shot--off the scoreboard in right field. After the Beavers pushed a run across in the seventh, Caleb Shofner delivered a two-run double inside the third-base bag in the eighth to make the score 12-3.

Seniors Luke Anders and Kyle Colligan would drive in A&M's final runs of the season in the ninth.

Kahalehoe went 5-for-5 and Ortiz added four hits to lead the Oregon State offense, while Patterson had a game-high three hits for the Aggies.

Ehlert (5-2) suffered the loss, giving up eight hits and seven runs in 1.2 innings of work.

Reyes (6-2) went the distance, giving up 10 hits and five runs (three earned) while walking one and fanning six.

POSTGAME NOTES

• The loss snapped a six-game win streak for the Aggies in NCAA Regional in elimination games...A&M staved off elimination once in 2004, three times in 2007, once last season and on Saturday against Wright State...prior to today, the last setback for the Aggies in a must-win NCAA Regional game was a 10-inning loss to Houston on June 1, 2003.

• A&M is now 55-54 all-time in NCAA Tournament games and 44-35 all-time in NCAA Regional play...the Aggies' overall record in the four-team regional era (1999-present) is 17-8.

• The all-time series with Oregon State is now tied, 4-4.

• Texas A&M finished the season with 568 strikeouts, the most by an Aggie team in school history.

• A&M's 85 home runs were the fifth most in school history, trailing only the 1999 (128), 1995 (88), 1989 (88) and 1998 (86) teams.

• Four seniors--Luke Anders, Kyle Colligan, Hank Robertson and Kyle Thebeau--saw their Texas A&M careers come to an end with Sunday's loss...the class led the Aggie program to 156 wins, three NCAA tournament appearances, two Big 12 titles and back-to-back regional crowns for the first time in school history.

• Kyle Colligan concluded his A&M career ranked among the school's all-time leaders in several categories--home runs (fifth, 42); runs scored (sixth, 189); hits (eighth, 241); doubles (10th, 43); RBIs (10th, 144) and stolen bases (10th, 44).

• Luke Anders also finished his Aggie career among the school's all-time leaders home runs (sixth, 40) and RBIs (seventh, 157).

• Kyle Thebeau finished his A&M career with 103 appearances, the most all time...his 259 strikeouts ranks sixth all time in Aggie history.

• Game-time temperature was 90 degrees with partly cloudy skies and winds blowing in from left field at seven miles per hour.
