
30 USTFCCCA All-America honors earned by 21 Aggie athletes

All-America honors, awarded by USTFCCCA, were earned by 21 Texas A&M athletes during the NCAA Outdoor Championships this past weekend. Aggies totaled 30 All-America honors in all while claiming both the men's and women's national championship trophies.
Texas A&M men totaled 16 honors from 11 athletes while the Aggie women had 14 honors with 10 athletes.
Porscha Lucas earned three All-America honors from the 100, 200 and 4 x 100 relay, bringing her career total at A&M to 15 honors. Her total is a school record for the program, male or female. Lucas also led the team with 17.5 points among the 50 the Aggies scored for the team title over Oregon.
In running a 22.38 collegiate leading time, which is second on the 2009 World and American list, in the NCAA semifinal Lucas also ran the fourth fastest time ever at a NCAA Outdoor Championship meet.
Now topping the men's list with nine All-America honors is Justin Oliver, who earned a pair of honors in Fayetteville in the 400 and 4 x 400 relay. Chris Dykes, who earned an All-America honor in the 200, has a career total of eight honors. He is tied for second most among the Aggie men along with Randy Matson, Howard Davis and Stanley Kerr.
Simone Facey (11) and Adrian Sawyer (8), while being tied with Clora Williams, who previously held the school record of 51.06 broken by Beard.
The 50.56 by Beard was the fastest second-place time in the history of the women's 400 at the NCAA Championships. She also becomes the sixth fastest collegian, with the ninth best performance. In the NCAA meet, Beard's time is sixth fastest ever.
In picking up two All-America honors this past weekend, Julian Reid (long jump, triple jump) increased his career total to six. He is now tied with Richard Bucknor, Brandon Evans and Leslie Kerr on the Aggie all-time list. Reid led the Aggies in scoring at the NCAA Championships with 13 points.
Three other Aggies now total four All-America honors for the women. Yasmine Regis and Ashika Charan, who each earned a All-America honor in Arkansas.
Reaching four career All-America honors on the men's side were Zuheir Sharif (triple jump). Kyle Dykhuizen (4x400) and Tran Howell (4x400).
Receiving their first All-America honor in NCAA competition were Khrystal Carter (4x100), Trinity Otto (decathlon), Angela Thomas (triple jump).
