Texas A&M freshman Omar Enriquez's school record performance in the 500-yard freestyle highlighted the Aggies' second day at the 2010 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday at the Student Recreation Natatorium.

In the team standings, the Aggies stand second with 291 points behind leader Texas (352 points) and ahead of Missouri (230).

Enriquez took down his third school record this season while placing fourth in the 500-yard freestyle. Enriquez, who also broke the 1,000- and 1,650 free records this season, finished in an NCAA "B" cut time of 4:20.66, which broke the old record of 4:23.66 set by Scott Mueller in 2003. The Aggies also received seventh and eighth place finishes from freshmen John McClure (4:31.88) and John Dalton (4:35.06), and junior Jensen Ried won the consolation final in 4:33.83.

The Aggies opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200 free relay. The foursome of junior Casey Strange, senior Jason Bergstrom and freshman John Dalton hit the wall in a NCAA "B" cut time of 1:18.62, which lopped nearly three seconds off their previous season best.

In the 200 IM, the Aggies scored 45 points from six swimmers. In the Championship final, senior Nikita Denisyako placed sixth in a "B" cut time of 1:47.90, and senior Tyler Welch was seventh in 1:51.97. The Aggies had four scorers in the consolation final with sophomore Amini Fonua placing 10th, freshman William Wagner finishing 11th, sophomore John Ariens placing 12th and senior Nathan Lavery taking 14th.

Senior Casey Strange placed third in the 50 freestyle with a season-best 19.89 clocking, which was a NCAA "B" cut. Also in the Championship final, Makany took sixth in 20.11 ("B" cut) and Bergstrom was eighth in 20.40. Junior Boris Loncaric won the consolation final in 20.27 ("B" cut), while freshman Austin Wilson placed 11th in 20.90.
