PARRISH, Fla. - The No. 16-ranked Texas A&M women's golf team is in sixth place after Monday's opening two rounds of the Central District Invitational at River Wilderness Country Club.
The Aggies carded a 27-over-par total of 295-308=603 and trails leader Florida by 22 strokes going into Tuesday's final round.
A&M senior Julia Boland is in 10th place in the individual standings at two-over 73-73=146. Arkansas' Kelli Shean leads at four-under 71-69=140. Aggie junior Sarah Zwartynsi (71-78=149) is tied for 14th, senior Ashley Freeman (72-81=153) is tied for 40th, freshman Chloe Garner (79-78=157) is tied for 61st and junior Alexa Porter (81-=79=160) is tied for 69th.
A&M is just 12 strokes behind second-place TCU (+15). Arkansas is in third (+20), followed by No. 12 LSU (+22), No. 4 Purdue (+22), A&M (+27), Kent State (+29), No. 25 Ohio State (+29), Texas (+30), No. 10 Michigan State (+31), No. 22 South Carolina (+34), Northwestern (+36), Missouri (+39), Notre Dame (+42) and Michigan (+43).
