COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The third-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team closes the regular season on Saturday when the Aggies host No. 9 New Mexico State at the Brazos County Expo Complex in Bryan. Admission is free and the show begins at 11 a.m.
A&M will also recognize 10 seniors as they compete in the final home show of their careers. The class has brought Aggie equestrian two western national championships, hunt seat reserve national champion honors and 39 show victories over their tenure.
"This senior class is very special to us as a staff, as they are the first to spend their entire careers under the varsity equestrian umbrella," head coach Tana McKay said. "It will be emotional to say goodbye on Saturday, but there are still plenty of rides left this spring and much more we hope to accomplish as we enter the postseason."
The Aggies of Texas A&M are 9-4 on the year and have won three straight shows, most recently back-to-back victories over Big 12 foes Kansas State and Oklahoma State. The Aggies of New Mexico State, meanwhile, are 5-4 after a 10-point win over Fresno State three weeks ago.
Following Saturday's show, Texas A&M will spend the next two weeks in preparation for the Big 12 Championships, scheduled for March 26 and 27 in Waco.
